Spero Financial announces the Louis C. Addison College Scholarship Winners for the 2023-2024 academic year. The three $3,000 scholarships are awarded to local students pursuing higher education. Named to honor long-time board member Louis (Lou) C. Addison for his love for helping people, since 2010, the credit union has awarded $126,000 in scholarships to recipients.

This year’s scholarship winners are Mikayla Jibben (left), Garrett Bowen (middle), and Parker Bryant (right).

Mikayla Jibben currently attends Gardner-Webb University where she is completing her final year before beginning the Osteopathic Medicine doctorate program in July. Mikayla’s passion for pediatric oncology is evident within the volunteer work she participates in at AnMed Women and Children’s Hospital.

Garrett Bowen is currently a student at Cresent High School where he is the captain of the men’s soccer team and the kicker for the varsity football team. Garrett is involved in Beta Club, CHS Anglers, Palmetto Boys State, Starr Baptist Church, Habitat ReStore, and Club Soccer through CESA. Upon graduation, Parker plans to attend Clemson University in the fall.

Parker Bryant is currently a student at T.L. Hanna High School where he is a member of the track and cross-country teams. Through his participation, Parker has been awarded the 2023 Cross Country All-Region and 2023 3200 All-Region titles. He is also an active member of the Concord Baptist Youth Group and Beta Club. Upon graduation, Parker plans to attend Anderson University in the fall.
