CREDIT UNION CELEBRATES BRANCH GRAND OPENING

Hudson Valley Credit Union (HVCU) in Poughkeepsie, recently celebrated the grand opening of its new Latham Branch on Aug. 21. Nonprofit and business leaders along with elected officials attended the celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the credit union into the Latham community.

The event kicked off with remarks from HVCU President and CEO Jonathan Roberts as he thanked branch and operations staff for their hard work in opening the credit union’s first Capital Region branch. New York State Senator Jake Ashby also spoke at the event, expressing his gratitude that a credit union will be able to provide much-needed financial resources to the community he serves. Ashby presented Roberts with a senatorial certificate of appreciation. Other notable attendees included Colonie Town Supervisor Peter Crummey and Colonie Deputy Supervisor Rick Field, as well as representatives of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce and the Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

At each new branch opening, HVCU provides support for local first responders. Roberts presented a $500 donation to both the Colonie Police Department, represented by Police Chief Jay Gerace, as well as the Latham Fire Department, represented by Fire Chief William “DT” Childs.

The Latham Branch has convenient hours, including Saturdays: Monday-Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Thursday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Saturday 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. For more information on the Latham Branch, including staff and a full list of available services, visit hvcu.org.
