Credit Unions Announce New Hires, Promotions, and CU Employees Recognized For Service and Achievements

Several credit unions, including GTE Financial and Floridacentral Credit Union, announced changes to their leadership, and a few credit unions, including Eglin Federal Credit Union, recognized their employees for their service and achievements over the years.

New Hires

  • Floridacentral Credit Union is pleased to announce Brad Babin as the credit union’s new Senior Vice President of IT, Chief Information Officer. Brad has over 25 years of Information Technology experience and has worked in the financial sector for 16 of those years. He has worked at financial institutions of all sizes from 125 million in assets to over 6 billion. He has a proven track record of helping organizations move forward strategically with the use of transformational technology solutions as well as increasing operational efficiencies.

  • Sikorsky Credit Union is pleased to announce that Sandra Rose has joined our team as a Financial Advisor, offering wealth management services to our members. Sandra will serve members at our Trumbull, Stationhouse Square (Stratford), Milford, and Brookfield locations.

Recognitions

  • Eglin Federal Credit Union is pleased to recognize Hurlburt Head Teller Gina Alford for 25 years of service. Gina currently resides in Navarre. “We are delighted to celebrate a remarkable milestone as we honor Gina Alford, who has dedicated 25 years of exceptional service to our Hurlburt Branch,” said Hurlburt Branch Manager Vivian Gonzalez­­. “Her steadfast commitment to this branch, professionalism and friendly demeanor have made a lasting impact on both our team and our members. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and are proud to have her as a valued member of our organization.” 

  • Royal Credit Union (Royal) Regional Director of Branch Operations, Amy Burma and Comprehensive Lending Specialist II, Heather Prueher, have been named Royal’s 2024 Positive Impact Award winners. The Positive Impact Awards are Royal’s highest team member recognition for a leader and team member who have truly gone above and beyond to make a lasting impact on Royal’s Members, team members, and communities. 

  • Summit Credit Union is proud to announce that Jack Thornton, Chairman of the Board, has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. This honor recognizes his exceptional dedication and lasting contributions to Summit Credit Union and the broader credit union industry.

Promotions

  • GTE Financial is excited to announce the promotions of two distinguished leaders within the organization. Manny Aguilar has been elevated to Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer (CXO), while Dona Svehla ascends to Executive Vice President, Chief Operating and Lending Officer. Their exceptional contributions have been vital in driving GTE Financial's success and reflect the credit union's unwavering commitment to its members, strategic goals, and outstanding service.

  • Effective November 4, 2024, OMNI Community Credit Union was pleased to promote Nicole Kasper to Chief Retail Officer. In her new role, Nicole looks forward to broadening her support for OMNI and enhancing the member-focused approach across all retail teams. She aims to continue empowering the team to make a greater impact by ensuring they have the training and resources needed to best serve members while fostering opportunities for professional growth.

  • TDECU’s new Chairman of the Board, Roland Hendricks, says he is focused on improving the Member experience as Houston's largest credit union heads into an era of remarkable transformation. He replaces the previous chairman, David Sikora, who announced his retirement earlier this month in order to pursue his investments and advisory opportunities in the technology industry.
