Entering its 2nd year, Wescom builds on historic NIL initiative with UCLA Women’s Basketball Team Members
Wescom, one of the largest community credit unions in California – and the Official Banking Partner of UCLA Athletics -- is building on its Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) initiative by supporting all 13 members of the UCLA Women’s Basketball Team, as well as with their coach, Cori Close, for a second year in a row.
Last year’s NIL initiatives were historic as it represented the first time that all members of a UCLA Athletics sports team signed NIL deals since the NCAA enacted the rules for student-athletes in 2021.
Now entering its second year with members of the UCLA Women’s Basketball team, Wescom has incorporated additional opportunities for increased exposure and visibility within the Bruin community, including appearances alongside Wescom at the UCLA Move-In Fair and Volunteer Day (photos available in Google Drive link).
Dedicated to providing economic opportunity for UCLA’s student-athletes – with a particular focus on women athletes -- the extension of this NIL partnership signifies the Credit Union’s commitment to helping build better lives for Bruins on and off campus. Wescom’s initial NIL partnership was with UCLA Softball Team member, Maya Brady.
During the past season, the No.2 seed UCLA Women’s Basketball Team made it all the way through to the third round of the Sweet Sixteen, and moving into the 2024-2025 season, they will be playing in the Big Ten Conference. Their first game takes place November 04, 2024, against Louisville.
