evolve FCU Social Purpose community outreach event Kids Day at the Corn Maze

On Saturday, October 26th, evolve FCU hosted its first social purpose event in Las Cruces, NM with Jardin De Los Ninos at the Mesilla Valley Corn Maze. Since branching into Las Cruces, the credit union’s mission is to provide community support in the same way they support the El Paso community.  They do this through their Social Purpose initiative, which provides unforgettable experiences for the families of nonprofit organizations that help children in need. Jardin De Los Ninos is a great organization that aligns with the values and beliefs evolve stands for.

The credit union wanted to kick start their partnership with Jardin De Los Ninos in a meaningful way, so they treated the families and children from their Las Cruces and Hatch locations to a day at the Mesilla Valley Corn Maze. The families enjoyed all day access to the maze and all the entertainment it has to offer. The pass also included food as well as $5 worth of activity tickets for each guest respectively. The families and children had a great time enjoying all the activities such as face painting, the pumpkin patch, maze and more. A family from Jardin de los Ninos stated, “It was exciting to be able to go to the Corn Maze since that was one of my dreams, coming all together and enjoying it.” Alma M. Ketcherside, director of family services at Jardin de los Ninos, also stated, “This outing was really nice as we often don’t get to include the families from both communities in an event like this.”

Jardin de los Ninos is a non-profit organization that offers educational services to children, and aid to families that are facing homelessness or are near homeless situations and provide new opportunities to flourish with love and care.
