Members First CU Announces 2024 Scholarship Recipients

Members First Credit Union Members First Credit Union (M1) proudly announces the recipients of its annual scholarship program, awarding a total of $10,000 to four outstanding students. The scholarship program, funded by the annual golf outing, Swinging for Scholarships, supports Members First members as they pursue their higher education aspirations.

Among the scholarship recipients is Alea Casipit, a recent 2024 graduate from Dow High School. Casipit excelled academically and athletically, captaining the Varsity Girls Swim and Dive team and participating in Dear Asian Youth and the Midland Dolphins swim club. She will be attending Calvin College in the fall, majoring in biochemistry with aspirations of attending medical school.

T'Emimimo Oshin, another scholarship recipient and recent graduate from Dow High School, is heading to Wayne State Medical School for a combined BS/MD Medicine Direct Program. Oshin is known for her strong community orientation and played a pivotal role in founding several organizations at Dow.

Calvin Older, a junior at Central Michigan University, is majoring in International Relations and Geographic Information Systems. He has received numerous honors and is actively involved in volunteer activities, including Central Clean Up, Isabella County Restoration House, and CMU's Annual Powwow.

Lindsey Shaw, a Junior at the University of Michigan Flint, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary studies. Shaw is actively engaged with the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club at U of M Flint and aspires to make meaningful contributions to animal welfare.
