RTN GoodWorks Foundation Celebrates Giving Tuesday with $3,000 in Donations to Local Charities

The RTN GoodWorks Foundation, a nonprofit, public charitable foundation affiliated with Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU), has made donations totaling $3,000 to five local non-profit organizations in celebration of Giving Tuesday. Each of the following organizations received a $750 donation from the foundation:

Africano Waltham, which serves youth and families from Africa—primarily from Uganda—who have emigrated to the U.S. and live in Waltham, Mass.

Essex County Community Foundation’s Greater Lawrence Summer Fund, which enabled 4,360 children in Lawrence to participate in 46 summer enrichment programs in 2024.

Latinos en Acción de Waltham, a non-profit organization devoted to the development and advancement of the Latin American community in Waltham, Mass.

Why Me, Worcester, a Worcester-based nonprofit created in 1985 to help central New England families cope with childhood cancer.

“Supporting local communities is part of our social mission as a credit union,” says Sarita Ledani, MVCU’s vice president of Select Employer Groups (SEG), Member Growth and Development, and executive director of the RTN GoodWorks Foundation. “These grassroots organizations make our world a better place, and we are so happy to support their efforts to brighten the holiday season for folks in our own backyard.”

Founded in 2011, the RTN GoodWorks Foundation is an extension of the credit union’s “people helping people” values, fostering financial wellness and promoting financial literacy and community involvement through donations that support community partners.
