SDCCU President and CEO, Teresa Campbell, Recognized Among San Diego’s 2024 Most Influential People

San Diego Business Journal recognizes San Diego’s 500 most influential business leaders

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®) is pleased to announce that SDCCU President and CEO, Teresa Campbell, was selected among the 2024 SD 500 – San Diego’s Most Influential People by San Diego Business Journal. This recognition represents the most influential and accomplished business leaders in San Diego, helping to drive the local economy while making a difference in the community.

Under Campbell’s leadership, SDCCU’s customer base has more than doubled, reaching over 428,000 members. She is an effective and compassionate leader with a keen strategic vision that has helped catapult the credit union into excellence. Campbell’s focus on improving lives by providing breakthrough banking products, services, education and extensive community support has tremendously impacted the San Diego region. 

“It’s an honor to be recognized as one of San Diego Business Journal’s Most Influential People in San Diego,” said Campbell. “I am grateful to have been acknowledged among incredible leaders who have made considerable contributions to the San Diego community.”

Campbell has earned a number of notable awards for her accomplishments and leadership in the time she has been with SDCCU. Most recently, she was named one of SD’s Women of Influence for the third consecutive year and selected as one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Credit Unions. In 2022, Campbell was presented with the prestigious California Nevada Credit Union League (CCUL) Distinguished Service Award. In 2021, she was honored as San Diego Business Woman of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal, recognized with a Stevie Award for Women in Business and selected for a Business Leadership Award from the North San Diego Business Chamber.

With over 25 years of experience in the credit union industry, 14 of which are in San Diego, Campbell is well respected for her leadership and affecting positive change not only locally, but also by industry peers. Campbell serves on the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, formerly the Department of Business Oversight, CU Advisory Committee. She served a two-year term, 2018 to 2020, on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Credit Union Advisory Council. She has also served as the 2012 and 2013 Board Chair of the California Credit Union League and in 2022 and 2023 was the Board Chair of the National Credit Union Foundation.
