Securityplus Federal Credit Union Launches “Know Money Know Empowerment”Financial Education Program

Securityplus Federal Credit Union has launched “Know Money Know Empowerment” a program which strives to make a positive difference by  providing free online financial education courses and credit union membership to individuals located in underserved communities in Baltimore City.

To help reach those who may benefit, the Credit Union has partnered with several non-profit organizations including The Center for Urban Families, Forward, New Psalmist Baptist Church and YouthWorks. Affiliated members and individuals can access the online learning platform and choose from a large selection of financial education modules including budgeting to achieve goals, debt management, and establishing and improving credit scores.

After completing three modules participants can become a Securityplus member and will receive a $50 deposit into their new account. In addition, the referring non-profit will also benefit by receiving a $50 donation for their organization. This incentive is being offered to the first 500 registrants and the program is through August 31, 2022.

“Know Money Know Empowerment” is made available through a $50,000 grant awarded to Securityplus by the National Credit Union Association. Learn more about this program and how to participate at securityplusfcu.org/kmke.
