Texas Trust Credit Union Aims to Improve Financial Well-being of its Members with EVERFI®
Texas Trust Credit Union has introduced a new digital financial tool to help its members build brighter financial futures. With the EVERFI® mobile-first learning platform, Texas Trust members can strengthen their financial knowledge and build healthier money habits. That leads to more sound decisions about their financial well-being.
Financial literacy is essential for driving economic growth and improving the welfare of individuals, families, and the overall community. According to WalletHub’s 2024 Most and Least Financially Literate States, Texas is ranked 29th. This means Texans with inadequate money management skills are more likely to have poor credit, carry high credit card balances, have low credit scores, pay more in interest, and incur more overdraft fees.
The EVERFI platform gives Texas Trust members free access to a robust library of topics centered around personal financial education such as budgeting, savings, home buying, retirement planning, investing, and more. The easily understandable interactive learning modules provide financial knowledge that members can apply to their own personal money situations and help them build a brighter financial future.
From opening a credit card to taking out a student loan, buying a home, or saving for retirement, most adults feel unprepared to make major financial decisions. The EVERFI platform guides members through interactive exercises where they can practice making financial decisions most relevant to them. Each topic offers a three- to-six-minute module allowing members to apply what they learn to their own situation. The mobile-first platform is available on all internet-enabled devices making it accessible anytime and anywhere.
“We are concerned about the financial literacy of our members as well as other Texans,” said Toni Nichols, Public Relations Manager at Texas Trust Credit Union. “EVERFI is an essential first step in our broader financial wellness initiative.”
Nichols added, “With this tool we want to create deeper member engagement and help our members gain the financial literacy that allows them to achieve personal financial growth and decrease wealth gaps.”
Texas Trust is part of a select group of Texas financial institutions offering the EVERFI platform, which is accessible to both members and non-members at no charge.
