Affinity Federal Credit Union Appoints Latest Class of Certified Wellbeing Coaches

Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) has appointed its latest class of Certified Wellbeing Coaches, adding 43 newly-certified coaches across its staff. The new coaches join the 42 individuals who graduated from the Affinity-led certificate program last December. With 85 total coaches, over 36 percent of Affinity’s front-line and support staff have now obtained the certification.

Affinity designed the program to institutionalize the organization’s approach to supporting its members’ financial wellbeing. Participants engaged in a six-month curriculum followed by a one-month capstone project to demonstrate their learning. The member-centric curriculum included topics such as personal finance, credit, taxes, insurance, identity theft and cybersecurity, and other common areas of financial concern. The Fall 2024 class also received specific training on empathy, better positioning them to respond to member inquiries and needs.

“Affinity’s mission is to support our members in all areas of their lives, and our Certified Wellbeing Coaches are one of the ways we are able to add value and underscore our commitment to improving financial wellbeing,” said Kevin Brauer, CEO and President of Affinity Federal Credit Union. “Our inaugural class of Wellbeing Coaches have made a significant impact on our members' lives, and we are encouraged and proud to empower a second class of coaches who are positioned to support our members in meeting their short- and long-term financial goals.”
