Affinity Federal Credit Union Recognized as a Top Credit Union by Forbes

Affinity has been named on the 2023 Forbes list of ‘America’s Best Credit Unions In Each State’ for customer service, digital tools and resources, and overall consumer trust

Affinity Federal Credit Union has been recognized on the Forbes list of “America’s Best Credit Unions In Each State,” earning the top spot in the state of New York. Based on a consumer survey, the list recognizes the top credit unions state by state for their community-minded banking experience and commitment to offering more to their members than just banking services.

“At Affinity, we believe that our commitment to the wellbeing of our communities is what sets us apart,” said Kevin Brauer, Affinity Federal Credit Union CEO. “Our mission is to improve the lives of everyone we touch through hands-on community service and programs that reach the underserved populations. We are honored to be included on such a prominent industry list and ranked so highly by our own members.”

To create the list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed approximately 31,000 U.S. residents. Participants were asked to name all the banks and credit unions where they have a checking or savings account and evaluate them based on specific criteria, including customer service, quality of financial advice, transparency of fees, ease of website navigation, branch services, digital tools and resources, and level of trust the companies inspired.

Affinity offers comprehensive financial solutions and wellbeing-oriented tools that allow its members to practice responsible spending habits and improve upon their current financial situation. The award highlights Affinity’s ongoing efforts to help its members move toward improving their financial wellbeing and independence.

“Trust is what is most important to us,” added Brauer. “If our members know that they can put their trust in us to help them through any and all of life’s challenges and hurdles, then we are living up to our mission. We remain committed to creating programs and solutions to improve the lives of not only our members, but their families and the surrounding communities.”

Forbes took a multifaceted approach to creating this list and relied on the opinions and experiences of the actual members of the credit unions in each state. The ranking also considered online reviews and ratings posted on Google from March 2020 through April 2023. Overall, 147 credit unions were recognized on the Forbes list across the United States.
