Affinity Plus Opens Branch in Lake Elmo

New branch marks the first of three planned openings, illustrating the Minnesota-based credit union’s commitment to providing members with accessible brick-and-mortar locations

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union (Affinity Plus) today opened its first location in Lake Elmo at 9931 Hudson Blvd, Suite 110. The branch joins 29 other Affinity Plus locations throughout the state that provide its members with convenient access to its full suite of quality, in-person banking services and member-centric programs.

The new Lake Elmo location, which is the first of three planned Affinity Plus branch openings in the next eight months, will now be the closest branch for roughly 10,000 existing Affinity Plus members in the east metro. Branch Manager Jasha Fransen is a longtime member of the Lake Elmo community, a graduate of Tartan High School and has been an Affinity Plus employee since 2013.

“I’ve been a part of Affinity Plus for a long time and know firsthand that it's an organization that prioritizes engaging with and supporting local communities,” said Fransen. “As the Lake Elmo and Oakdale communities continue to grow, I’m excited to bring high-quality financial services and Affinity Plus’s community-focused mission to the area that I call home.”

Affinity Plus, together with the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, will host a trunk or treat event with a ribbon-cutting as a grand opening for the Lake Elmo Branch on Monday, October 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Community members are welcome to attend and hear remarks from local dignitaries, learn about Affinity Plus’s services and enjoy donuts from Grey Duck Concessions and beverages from Lakewood Tavern. Attendees can also enter a drawing for a chance to win one of five $100 gift cards.

The Lake Elmo branch lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a drive-thru open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. More information on Affinity Plus’s branch locations can be found here.

Two additional branches are slated to open in Virginia and Shakopee in 2024. In an age of digital banking, Affinity Plus is committed to providing access to quality mobile and online banking, while also deepening its community investments and responding to members’ preferences to have close access to an in-person location.

Affinity Plus, known for prioritizing the financial health of its members, is the first credit union in the state to dramatically restructure its fee structure, saving members $10 million in one year. The credit union recently earned accolades from the Minnesota Credit Union Network (MNCUN) and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for its efforts to eliminate non-sufficient fund fees and reform charges for courtesy payment services.
