American Heritage Credit Union Receives Financial Literacy & Education Award from Mastercard

American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”) has received the 2024 Mastercard Community Institution Segment Award for Financial Literacy & Education, recognizing its contributions in these areas amongst its membership and the local community.

American Heritage was one of the select financial institutions that partners with Mastercard to be recognized in their fifth annual Community Institution Segment Awards. Mastercard developed this program to “highlight the best and brightest financial institutions and the incredible impact they have on their local communities.”

The Financial Literacy & Education Award is given to a financial institution that continuously strives to educate its local communities on matters of financial literacy. American Heritage places an emphasis on these matters on a regular basis. Members and non-members have access to weekly blogs, regular social media posts on a variety of educational and financial literacy topics, as well as the Learning Center, a digital hub containing budgeting worksheets, calculator tools, and other helpful resources. Additionally, American Heritage associates have dedicated time at local high schools to put forth financial reality fairs, presenting high school students with real-world scenarios like paying for college or their own apartment.

“We thank Mastercard for this recognition and our valued partnership. This award reflects our commitment to educating the local communities we proudly serve. It also underscores the importance of financial literacy and education now more than ever. We aim to educate our members and those in our communities in all our endeavors, and these areas will continue to be at the forefront of our goals and efforts in the years ahead,” said Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO of American Heritage Credit Union.

“We are excited to congratulate American Heritage Credit Union on winning the Financial Literacy & Education Award in the fifth annual Mastercard Community Institution Segment Awards! This award is an impressive testament to their commitment and efforts to educate and provide programs that deliver superb value to their cardholders on financial literacy. The skills and guidance they have provided will foster financial well-being for generations to come,” said Fred Grigsby, Senior Vice President of Account Management, Community Institutions at Mastercard.
