AmeriChoice Hosts Tiny Home Event in Support of Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania

Soon, members of AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union and the community alike will find a surprising and temporary new addition at the financial cooperative's main branch and Sporting Green branch: a tiny home. AmeriChoice is welcoming the tiny home to promote the efforts of Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania (VOPA), a locally founded and operated non-profit organization. VOPA is currently working to build Veterans Grove, a village of 15 tiny homes and a community center for veterans experiencing homelessness.

This special event will start off on March 13 at AmeriChoice's main branch at 2175 Bumble Bee Hollow Road in Mechanicsburg. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., tours of the tiny home will be open to the public. Following this, the tiny home will be transported to our Sporting Green branch at 20 Sporting Green Drive in Mechanicsburg, where it will be on display from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. We welcome everyone to join us at both locations for this meaningful occasion. Visitors are also encouraged to donate first aid and sanitizing items such as peroxide, bandaids, neosporin, ice packs, biofreeze, gauze, first aid tape, hand soap, hand sanitizer, masks, and nitrile gloves to benefit veterans when they visit.

The tiny home event is part of a larger effort by AmeriChoice to support the efforts and mission of VOPA. The credit union has already pledged ongoing financial donations to the non-profit organization. Marking its second financial installment supporting VOPA’s programs during the March 13 event, AmeriChoice also disclosed its new role as the Multipurpose Room Sponsor for VOPA’s Veterans Grove.

“By supporting this initiative, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of veterans in need,” said AmeriChoice President and CEO Ken Dyer. “We encourage our members, friends, and neighbors to get involved in this essential work by taking part in this event, donating toiletries, and even sponsoring a brick as a way to support Veterans Outreach and the amazing work they do for those who have served our country.”
