BHFCU Staff-Led Giving Program Raises $5,000 for Kids in August
Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) believes it is imperative to support the passions of its staff. That’s why they promote the staff-led Community Action Team (CAT) program and are proud to share that staff raised more than $5,000 during August.
This month, the CAT program focused on supporting BHFCU’s School Support Drive. The Drive raises funds to support schools in all the communities BHFCU serves. With the monetary donations they receive, schools can use the funds in ways that will impact kids the most.
To support the Drive, BHFCU staff had delicious and exciting opportunities to get involved! Crowd favorites, the Annual Caramel Roll Sale and School Support Drive Auction, are supported by donations from area businesses.
“The Auction and Caramel Roll Sale wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of local businesses,” said Leslie Millard, Marketing Communications Specialist. “Who doesn’t love a tasty treat and the chance to outbid your coworker for a weekend cabin stay? Each year, our staff has a blast supporting kids with a dose of healthy competition.”
Thanks to a generous donation of nearly 150 caramel rolls by Colonial House Restaurant, the Annual Caramel Roll Sale raised $744. For a donation, staff had their goodies hand-delivered this year. Additionally, this year’s School Support Drive Auction amassed 41 packages filled with contributions from dozens of businesses. The bids of the 41 winners totaled $4,288 to help kids thrive in school.
In total, the month’s efforts raised $5,032. Each dollar will go to making donations to schools and educational organizations ahead of the 2024 school year.
BHFCU supports community needs through corporate contributions, employee fundraisers, and donations from members and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
