Coastal Credit Union Foundation Grants Nearing $1 Million for 2024

The Coastal Credit Union Foundation has awarded $260,000 to 19 nonprofits in North Carolina during its Q4 2024 grant cycle, which brings the total foundation grants to $965,500 for the year. The 19 grants given to these nonprofits will improve access to resources and support financial well-being programs throughout our local communities.

Grants include $20,000 to the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, which is established to assist affected employees of credit unions in all impacted regions.

The Foundation’s other recent grantees include:

Access to Resources

Affordable Housing

Financial Well-Being

“Regardless of the funding category, we emphasize financial literacy and offer our community impact team as a resource to grantees,” said Foundation Executive Director Emily Nail. “By providing education and access to resources, we hope to equip people with skills and tools that lead to better financial decisions and stability.” She added, “a FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) report shows us individuals with higher financial literacy are more likely to live within their means, have three months’ worth of income in an emergency fund and have at least one kind of retirement account.”
