Cooperative Credit Union Association Announces External Growth Program Partnership

The Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) and Capstone Strategic Inc. (Capstone) announce today the creation of an external growth program for credit unions. The focus of the joint program is to offer external growth thought leadership and education to CCUA’s member credit unions, while serving as a complement to traditional credit union planning sessions.

Through this partnership, credit unions in Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island have access to three-hour, onsite sessions facilitated by Capstone team members. A variety of topics will be available to explore in these meetings including external growth options, CUSOs as a growth vehicle, fintech partnerships, strategic planning, valuation, and finding opportunities in the credit union marketplace.

“The Capstone team is eager to jump-start this partnership to help the CCUA’s credit union community. External growth is our passion. As credit unions harness the power of CUSOs, M&A and partnerships, they will be in a much better position to serve the members of the future,” noted John Dearing, Capstone Partner.

“In the ever-changing financial landscape, our partnership with Capstone Strategic empowers member credit unions with exclusive growth strategies and professional development opportunities,” said Melissa Pomeroy, CCUA Chief Revenue Officer. “Together, we're shaping a stronger future for credit unions, ensuring they thrive amidst evolving challenges.”

CCUA member credit unions are encouraged to meet John Dearing on September 26th during the External Growth Strategy: How Credit Unions Can Increase Their Likelihood of Success webinar at 10 am. The virtual event will highlight the latest proactive external growth strategies being deployed within the credit union industry.
