UVA Community Credit Union Welcomes Belinda Tucker as Chief Operating Officer

UVA Community Credit Union is pleased to announce the hiring of Belinda Tucker as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The position of COO reports to Credit Union President/CEO, Susan Gruber, and will support the Credit Union’s marketing, retail delivery strategy, loan servicing, operations, Member Service Center, and member experience departments.

Tucker joins the Credit Union with over two decades of experience in the fastpaced financial industry. During her career, she has gained experience managing loan and deposit operations, loan collections, mortgage, IT, HR, risk and compliance, marketing and branding, branch administration, and branch sales development and service. She is also an experienced lender in retail, commercial, and mortgage loans.

She believes that being involved in her community is the most important thing she can do personally and professionally,” says Gruber.

Through the years, Tucker earned as much education, training, and experience as possible to ensure she had the skill set to benefit others. She holds a BS in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, a FINRA Series 6, 65, and 63 Investment licenses, and is an ABA Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP). She has completed the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the VBA Virginia School of Bank Management. Additionally, she attended the VBA Executive Leadership and Management Program and the Wharton Leadership Program held at the University of Pennsylvania. Most recently, in June 2022, Tucker completed her Master of Science in Information Technology.

In addition to her dedicated career in the financial industry, Tucker exemplifies the credit union spirit through actively participating in a Rotary and Habitat for Humanity. Tucker is transitioning to the Charlottesville, VA area from Northern Virginia with her husband Wayne. They have an adult son who lives in Colorado.
