Credit Unions For Kids National Advisory Boards Adds Three New Members

Credit Unions for Kids, a national collaboration of credit unions raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, is excited to announce the appointment of three new members to its national Advisory Board: Renee Sattiewhite, Larry Palochik, and Seth Schaefer. These distinguished leaders bring a wealth of expertise and passion to the Credit Unions for Kids mission of improving the lives of children across the United States.

Renee Sattiewhite is the President/CEO at the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC), and has been a long-time leader in the credit union industry. Renee has received many awards for enacting innovation and improvement across the credit union system in a variety of ways. While she hasn’t held formal roles with CU4Kids in the past, she has been an ardent supporter and attended many events.

Larry Palochik is the Executive Vice President of the CA/NV/UT Credit Union Leagues. Palochik has been instrumental in driving CU4Kids growth and community outreach in California and Nevada in many ways, including the CA/NV Wine Auction, the Sactown Run, and the League’s annual REACH conference. In 2023 alone, he helped champion $3 million raised in those two states.

Seth Schaefer is the EVP and Chief Impact Officer at Rivermark Community Credit Union. Schaefer is been a member of the CU4Kids Doernbecher Advisory Committee, and soon completing his 2-year term as the co-chair. He is a member of the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (Portland, OR) Philanthropy Board. He has spent over 20 years fundraising in different ways for CU4Kids, including participating in the NW Golf Classic and GoWest MAXX CU4Kids Benefit Auction. He attended Children’s Hospitals Week to accept the Founders Award in April 2024. And he is an evangelist for children’s health as a foundation of financial wellbeing.

“The Credit Unions for Kids Advisory Board just became a much stronger entity due to the appointments of three great leaders: Renee Sattiewhite, Larry Palochik, and Seth Schaefer. These three change-makers will help us continue to improve the impact we are making on the physical and financial health of our members and communities. Thanks to each of them for their previous support, and now stepping up in this new capacity!” says John Bratsakis, President/CEO of MD|DC Credit Union Association and Chair of the Credit Unions for Kids National Advisory Board.

The Credit Unions for Kids Advisory Board provides guidance and support to the organization’s ongoing initiatives and fundraising campaigns, helping to ensure that Credit Unions for Kids remains a leading force in supporting children’s healthcare. The addition of these three new members reflects the organization’s commitment to expanding its network of influential, passionate leaders dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.
