DCUC’s Annual Conference Begins
The Defense Credit Union Council’s (DCUC) Annual Conference is officially underway! Today, DCUC welcomed attendees and guests to this year’s event at the beautiful Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida.
To kick off the conference, participants were invited to compete in DCUC’s 2024 VADM Vincent Lascara Golf Tournament. DCUC’s annual golf tournament, sponsored by TruStage, continues a special tradition of camaraderie among credit unions while supporting DCUC’s 2024 Conference Charity of choice, USA Cares. This year’s golf tournament alone raised $1,370 in donations for USA Cares through the sale of gimme strings and mulligans.
DCUC’s Annual Conference was first held over 60 years ago, from September 17-19, 1963, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. This first gathering took place shortly after the council's formation, addressing the need for an organization within the financial industry that effectively represents and lead the interests of America’s defense credit unions.
Since that time, DCUC has not only remained the industry’s trusted resource for all military and veterans matters but has transformed into a robust association advocating for all credit unions serving our armed forces and their families. By increasing its engagement with top legislative and regulatory leaders at both state and federal levels, DCUC continues to ensure its members’ voices are heard and supported.
DCUC’s Annual Conference plays a large role in the council’s overall mission and commitment to member value. During the conference, DCUC and its guest speakers will provide attendees with the DoD and military perspective on credit union issues while hosting thought-provoking keynote presentations, exciting networking events, and education opportunities. Attendees will also connect face-to-face with other credit union CEOs, executives, and top decision-makers within the credit union industry. In addition to the general sessions, DCUC’s corporate sponsors will provide educational presentations sharing insights and resources to help grow and improve credit unions’ business.
