FAMILY TRUST FEDERAL CREDIT UNION CELEBRATES FUTURE LEADERS, ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Paying it forward to young and aspiring professionals from York County, Family Trust Federal Credit Union (Family Trust) has awarded two $5,000 scholarships to local students. Carter Threatt earned the Eddie Reeves Community Commitment Scholarship and Sarai Hardin received the Penny Pratt Women in Business Scholarship.

Threatt is a recent graduate of Rock Hill High School. He graduated with highest honors and will be attending University of South Carolina. Harden is a senior at Winthrop University. She was chosen to participate in a prestigious internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she already has a job offer after she completes her degree.

“Our honorees distinguished themselves both academically and in their commitment to giving back,” said Ryan Harvey, president and CEO, Family Trust. “We look forward to continuing this tradition of recognizing and acknowledging students who make an impact in their communities through acts of kindness and volunteering.”

The Eddie Reeves Community Commitment Scholarship is given to a model leader with a demonstrated history of serving their community. The scholarship remembers Eddie Reeves, a credit union volunteer and board chairman who served Family Trust for over 30 years.

The Penny Pratt Women in Business Scholarship, which honors Family Trust’s former CEO, Penny Pratt, seeks to support and empower female students pursuing or intending to pursue studies and careers in a business-related field.
