First Capital Federal Credit Union Contributes to Dover Area High School Veterans Memorial!

On Monday, November 11, 2024, First Capital Federal Credit Union’s Sue DeStephano, President/CEO; Tara Houser Minetos, SVP of Marketing; and Kayla Weaver, School Branch Coordinator, attended the dedication of the new Dover Area High School Veterans Memorial. Brad Jacobs, a former Commissioned Officer in the PA Army National Guard, first proposed the idea for the memorial in 2018 to coincide with the plans for a new high school. Fundraising for the project was halted due to COVID, but got back on track these last few years. To date, the project has raised $191,000 through generous sponsors like First Capital Federal Credit Union, other local businesses, organizations, and community members.

The dedication ceremony featured keynote speaker retired Brigadier General Robin L. Mealer, a member of the Dover Area High School Class of 1976, as well as performances by the Dover Area High School choir and band. The service honored veterans, veteran organizations, and celebrated their significant addition to the Dover community.
