FMFCU FOUNDATION DONATES FOOD AND FUNDS TO FOOD BANKS ACROSS THE PHILADELPHIA REGION

Food banks across the region face their greatest need for donations during the summertime. This June, FMFCU Foundation donated food and funds to 20 local organizations fighting food insecurity.

The Foundation’s Food Insecurity Fund, which began in 2020 to help food banks improve food access for our neighbors, is continuing to raise and distribute funds to local food banks. Since then, FMFCU Foundation has donated nearly $65,000 in the fight against food insecurity.

This year, in addition to funds, a food collection drive was hosted in all Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) branches during the entire month of June.

FMFCU Foundation proudly announces the 2024 recipients of the Food Insecurity Fund, each awarded with cash donations totaling $14,000:

In the heart of July, the FMFCU Foundation made a significant impact by delivering 1,200 pounds of food donations collected from FMFCU members, employees, and Representative Craig Williams’ office to the Chester County Food Bank and Food Bank of Delaware. In a united effort, alongside 14 credit unions, they also extended their support to Philabundance through a collaborative event, collectively donating $21,850 and 2,375 pounds of food to the regional food bank.

"Addressing food insecurity is at the core of our mission here at FMFCU Foundation," remarked Rick Durante, Executive Director of the FMFCU Foundation. "We are dedicated to backing our local food banks and ensuring our community has access to essential nourishment."
