FORUM Credit Union Wins First Place Second Year in a Row for Adult Financial Literacy Award

FORUM Credit Union is proud to announce winning first place for the second year in a row for the Alphonse Desjardins Adult Award in the $1 Billion+ asset size category in the Indiana statewide competition. CUNA (Credit Union National Association) created the Desjardins program to recognize leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of financial literacy for all ages.

Plaques were presented to statewide winners at the ICUL (Indiana Credit Union League) Chairman’s Awards Banquet on Friday, October 14, as part of the League Convention. FORUM Chief Operating Officer, Andy Mattingly, was present to accept the award. FORUM’s entry focused on the concept of “building a better financial future.” FORUM incorporated various guides on the FORUM website to help members build a better financial future based on their current life phase. These guides feature coaching points, strategies, and provide smart money moves to make at specific points in life.

“FORUM is determined to always provide updated financial education to meet the current needs of our community. This project best represents the cooperative principle of Financial Education because it empowers members to make healthy financial choices and build a strong financial future,” said Doug True, FORUM Chief Executive Officer. FORUM’s First-Place entry will move on to the national level where it will compete at the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) with other state winners from across the country. Winners will be revealed in February 2023 at GAC.

In addition to the Desjardins award, two additional honors were given. Rick Rambo, Board Treasurer of FORUM, was awarded the ICUL’s 2021 Leadership Achievement Award, which recognizes credit union volunteers/officials who have given selflessly to promote the credit union ideal and to better the credit union movement in Indiana. Allie Foley, Assistant President of Retail Delivery Operations at FORUM, also took home the 2022 Emerging Leadership Award from the ICUL. This award was created in order to recognize the next generation of credit union leaders in Indiana for their accomplishments and future leadership.
