Gesa Credit Union Gives Back to Local Organizations On Annual “Day of Service”

More than 470 team members united on Indigenous Peoples’ Day to volunteer over 2,370 hours at 34 organizations across the Pacific Northwest

Gesa, a community-focused credit union, today announced the powerful impact of its third annual “Day of Service,” an initiative that unites team members in giving back. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, October 14, Gesa closed its 31 branches to allow more than 470 team members to volunteer and make a meaningful difference in their local communities. This year, 34 organizations across the Pacific Northwest benefited from their efforts.

Gesa team members dedicated 2,370+ hours volunteering at a variety of organizations and nonprofits, including food banks, animal shelters, senior centers, and community enrichment programs. Their efforts ranged from gathering community supplies, taking on cleaning projects, providing care for animals at local shelters, packaging food for families in need, and more.

Additionally, team members wrote and delivered letters expressing their gratitude and appreciation for the dedicated efforts of local heroes in the community, including law enforcement, firefighters, veterans, educators and healthcare workers.

“We are truly honored to partner with these incredible organizations for our annual Day of Service. Working alongside them provides us with a deeper appreciation for the vital work they do year-round,” said Brandon Allison, AVP of Training, Education and Community Relations at Gesa Credit Union. “It’s always amazing to see our team members come together with a shared commitment to making a positive impact. By choosing projects they are passionate about, the experience becomes even more meaningful for everyone involved.”
