Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union Supports Inclusion, Participates In Best Buddies Walk

Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union (FCU) staff volunteers walked to support the non-profit, Best Buddies and their mission of creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Held at Magic Island Ala Moana Beach Park on Saturday, May 11, 2024, the walk was the culmination of the volunteer team’s goal of raising $500 in support of Best Buddies. Fellow staff members rallied around the team and purchased hot dog combos at a lunch fundraiser held earlier in the month, helping the team surpass their goal to raise over $600.

“It was truly inspiring to see so many people come together to support inclusion and friendship for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said Kimberly Mondejar, Team Leader and Executive Assistant to the Hawaii Central FCU President.
