IBEW 26 FCU Selects Joshua Urbick as Next CEO

IBEW 26 Federal Credit Union (Lanham, MD) has selected Joshua Urbick, CCUFC, to serve as its next chief executive officer. He was placed by DDJ Myers, the well-known leadership development firm. IBEW 26 FCU’s Board of Directors worked closely with DDJ Myers to ensure a well-qualified candidate was selected to step into the position as the next CEO. The Board is looking forward to collaborating with Joshua on new ideas and strategies to enhance the financial needs of our members.

Doreen Creamer Cleland, current CEO, is announcing her upcoming retirement. After a long and rewarding career working with members at IBEW 26 FCU, she is looking forward to retiring. Cleland will stay briefly to welcome and onboard Urbick in his new role as CEO.

“Joining IBEW 26 FCU and carrying on the rich legacy that Doreen Creamer Cleland and her family have created is a deep honor,” says Urbick.  “This is not merely about continuing a legacy but sculpting this cooperative’s future proactively and respectfully. I eagerly anticipate working with the board and engaging in a fruitful collaboration with our fantastic team. Our goal is to persistently steer the credit union on an upward trajectory, as we delicately maneuver through the economic complexities of our time.”

Urbick brings nearly a decade of financial services experience to his new position, serving in various roles at Global Credit Union after getting his professional start at Banner Bank. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hayden Chamber of Commerce and President of the North Idaho Chapter of NWCUA.

“It has been an absolute joy collaborating with the outstanding team at DDJ Myers. Alexa Bradley and Christina Isaacs were exceptional to work alongside,” says Urbick. “Their dedication and unwavering commitment not only enriched our working process, but it also amplified the overall experience. I am sincerely grateful to DDJ Myers for making this endeavor both enjoyable and immensely rewarding."

Urbick completed a four-year degree in Theology/Theological Studies at Global University and holds several professional licenses and certifications, including his Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation from CUNA. In his free time, Urbick enjoys traveling, boating, and exploring new places. He’s looking forward to discovering all the East Coast has to offer and recently tried taking up golf.
