InFirst Federal Credit Union donates $5,000 to two charities

InFirst Federal Credit Union (InFirst) donated $5,000 to two organizations that foster financial education and self-worth. InFirst donated $5,000 to Empowerhouse in Fredericksburg, VA. Empowerhouse supports survivors of domestic violence and their children by encouraging victims to believe in themselves and build new lives filled with dignity, respect, safety, and hope. The organization gives them the time, space, and tools to heal their hearts, restore their connections, rebuild their lives, and renew their spirits. The shelter suffered a fire from a lightning strike over the summer. Empowerhouse is working on a full restoration to include a remake of their playroom. This space will be enjoyed by children of all ages and adults too.

InFirst also donated $5,000 to The Humble Hustle Company in Roanoke, VA. Humble Hustle empowers black youth and connects diverse communities by creating innovative, inclusive spaces that inspire hope and promote giving. The “Keep Giving Initiative” helped 2,900 children with back-to-school supplies and provided over 1,700 winter coats. The “Humble Hikes Program” provides youth with the chance to expand their horizons and experience the world around them in a healthy and positive way. InFirst is excited to announce that the credit union is partnering with The Humble Hustle to offer Financial Literacy Seminars throughout 2023.
