Kinecta Board Partners with the Underground for Thought Leadership

Money 20/20, the biggest conversation around money in the world, is taking the stage in Las Vegas and the Underground is colliding on October 22 and 23 for a two-day, 2Xperience. For the first time ever, Kinecta Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors is partnering with the Underground to engage their peers and the industry before Money 20/20, the largest conversation about money and tech. “We want to add our voice to the future of Fintechs and collectively unite our credit union colleagues in an experience like no other,” said Jeff Yonemura, board chair of Kinecta. “We hope you, your Board and your executives will join us.”

There are many challenges ahead for credit union board governance as our industry consolidates and digital innovation drives the future. There will be opportunities to invest in technology funds, preview startups, and to combine our collaborative efforts to scale business ventures. There will be issues that will test our commitment to people helping people when we know through transactions that people may do themselves or their community harm. Yes, we are not going to shy away from those conversations – there is no right, there is no wrong, only facilitated conversation on critical topics.

·       Future shock about Fintechs as competitors and as partners. ROI or OH MY? Venture Capital funds that are partners to the CU space that may just put the traditional model out of business.

·       Human & Digital Intersectionality, A moral dilemma. Insights into the data, trends, potential mental health issues that are identified by transactions. Is it a problem? Not our problem? Or, collect the income because we can’t legislate behavior. Group discussion at roundtables.

·       CU Rise Up – Next Gen Boards & Realities of Diversity. The country is becoming more diverse, and our governance models must reflect the realities of this transition. Consumers want authentic, efficient and access for all. Loyalists want that too! It’s a generational thing!

·       Envision Money 2030 – It ain’t about next year or even three-year strategic plans cause the pace of change will leave CUs behind. What will the FI world look like by the end of the decade?

“It has been my goal to have a collaborative director’s session for three years, now it’s happening with the diversity of thought that comes from the Underground,” shared Mary Yasui-Yamabe, board director and strategy committee chair of Kinecta.

It will be beautiful, at the Prestige room, 36th floor of the Venetian Hotel. Please join us by registering below. Reach out to the Mitchell Stankovic team HERE for more information. To register for this event, click here!
