Dave Hanighen Appointed as Chief Information Officer of Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union

Award-winning technology and cybersecurity expert brings demonstrated expertise to Law Enforcement Credit Union

Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union (LAPFCU) is proud to welcome Dave Hanighen as Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective May 30, 2023. In his new position, Hanighen will lead the development, implementation, and operation of strategic technology solutions and services for the 44,000-member organization, which has $1.4 billion in assets, and serves the financial services needs of law enforcement communities in Southern California.

Hanighen joins LAPFCU with more than 20 years of financial institution and industry experience. Prior to this, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Logix Federal Credit Union, where he managed information security and developed strategies to improve security and technology effectiveness.

“With extensive experience in cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, and supporting growth across the financial industry spectrum, Dave is well-positioned to lead LAPFCU’s information technology initiatives. Hanighen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. He holds multiple industry certifications, including Chief Information Security Officer, Information Security Manager, Risk and Information Security Controls, Data Privacy Solutions Engineer, Certified Regulatory Vendor Program Manager. Over his career, Hanighen garnered awards such as Simplicity Bank Leadership Award, Innovative Community Banker of the Year Award, and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Leadership Award.
