LBS Financial Credit Union Donates School Supplies and Classroom Items to Three Local Schools

LBS Financial Credit Union delivered thousands of school supplies and wish list items to three local schools in Long Beach, Bellflower, and Cerritos as part of their annual Adopt a School Program.

LBS Financial adopts a different school in ABC Unified School District, Bellflower Unified School District, and Long Beach Unified School District every year and partners with the principals to receive a wish list of items needed for students and classrooms. This year, the Credit Union adopted Tracy Infant Center in ABC Unified School District, Woodruff Elementary in Bellflower Unified School District, and Oropeza Elementary in Long Beach Unified School District. The Credit Union purchased thousands of dollars of items on each school’s wish list and also held a school supply drive at their local branches so its members and employees could get involved. In September and October, the Credit Union delivered items like art supplies, books, crayons, dolls, gift cards, markers, notebooks, toys, tricycles, backpacks and more. The delivery for Tracy Infant Center included a refrigerator and stove as part of their wish list.

“We greatly appreciate LBS Financial’s donation of the refrigerator, stove, toys and playground equipment. Our kitchen was very dilapidated and much in need of an appliance upgrade. The appliances will bring joy and function to our staff and students for years to come,” said Head of Special Needs Program at Tracy Infant Center, Linda Chan-Ogura, M.A. “The toys and tricycle have brought smiles to our student's faces. They noticed the new toys immediately.”

This is LBS Financial’s fourteenth year of adopting local schools within the ABC, Bellflower, and Long Beach Unified School Districts.
