LGE Community Credit Union forms partnership with Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation to honor veterans and their families

LGE Community Credit Union is proud to announce its support of the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation as the organization’s first founding partner. The partnership is aimed at honoring veterans and their families, while also strengthening the community.

The Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring all veterans from Cobb County who served in the United States Armed Forces. The Foundation's goal is to build a permanent memorial that will serve as a place of reflection, healing, and remembrance for veterans and their families.

As a founding partner, LGE Community Credit Union will provide funding and support to help the Foundation achieve its goals. The partnership is a testament to LGE's commitment to the community and its veterans.

"We are honored to partner with the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation and to support its mission to honor our veterans," said Chris Leggett, President and CEO of LGE Community Credit Union. "As a community-focused credit union, we believe it is our responsibility to support the organizations that make our community stronger, and the Foundation's work is a testament to that."

The partnership will benefit veterans and their families by providing a permanent place of remembrance and recognition for their service and sacrifice. The memorial will also serve as an educational resource for future generations to learn about the sacrifices made by veterans.

"The board of directors of the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation is so very proud that LGE is our generous Founding Partner. LGE's leadership recognizes the importance of this memorial to honor our over 60,000 Cobb veterans, to educate our children on the value of service to our community and our nation, and to become part of the hub of services to veterans, active-duty military and their families in the months and years ahead” said Donna Rowe, President and CEO of the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation.

“We are most grateful for LGE's support, partnership, and dedication to our community and our veterans that gave so much for us to be free."

On Tuesday, April 25, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners recognized the partnership with an official proclamation.

“We are so excited to have LGE Community Credit Union as our initial Founding Partner for the Cobb Veterans Memorial Park,” said JoAnn Birrell, Cobb County District 3 Commissioner.

“The memorial will be a wonderful tribute to all veterans who served, and we are truly grateful for their service and for our sponsors.” “We are truly grateful for the opportunity to partner with LGE. The Veterans Memorial will serve as a beacon of hope, love, and support of our Cobb veterans,” said Dr. Jackie McMorris, Cobb County Manager.

“Thank you LGE and everyone who has supported this initiative.” For more information on how to support the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation, please visit cobbveteransmemorial.com.
