Members First CU Launches Joy in Teaching Grants Supporting MI Educators

Members First Credit Union (M1) is excited to announce the launch of its Joy in Teaching Grants program, designed to provide financial assistance to educators across Michigan. With a total of $20,000 available, the program will award 40 grants of $500 each to support classroom projects that enhance the educational experience for students.

Classroom resources are essential for fostering enriching educational experiences, but school budgets often fall short. The Joy in Teaching Grants help bridge this gap, giving educators access to additional funds so they can enhance their students' learning environments without bearing the financial strain themselves.

“Supporting teachers is one of the best ways to support our community,” said Bethany Dutcher at Members First Credit Union. “Through the Joy in Teaching Grants, we aim to alleviate the financial burden that many educators face by providing them with the means to create a truly impactful educational experience for their students."

The grant application period runs from October 1 to October 31, 2024, with recipients notified by November 30, 2024. Grants are open to all educators teaching Pre-K through 12th grade at schools within Michigan. To apply, educators must submit their applications online. Members First Credit Union employees, their immediate family members, directors, and volunteers are not eligible to apply.
