Montana’s Credit Unions kicks off its award-winning annual fundraiser for Shodair Children’s Hospital
Once again united under our favorite rivalry — the Cat/Griz football game — credit unions across Montana are raising funds for Shodair Children’s Hospital (Shodair) through our annual Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) Brawl of the Wild fundraiser.
Leading up to the football game, credit unions across Montana will be selling $1 team icons to football fans to proudly support their team. Credit unions celebrate the campaign every year with decorated lobbies, social media posts, and even beautiful window art. It’s a big celebration raising big money for a great cause. Since 2021, Montana’s credit unions have collectively donated over $87,000 to Shodair through our Brawl of the Wild campaign, Miracle Jean Day giving, and a fantastic bake sale at Ravalli County Credit Union.
The Brawl of the Wild fundraiser has garnered national attention, receiving 2nd Place (leagues) for the Dora Maxwell award from America’s Credit Unions. This national award honors involvement in community projects and activities.
“An essential part of the credit union philosophy is to give back to our community,” said Karen Smith, Senior Vice President & Chief Advocacy Officer for MCU. “Shodair is a beacon of hope for so many families across the state and is a very deserving partner. We have been elated with our credit union and community participation and cannot wait to kick off each fundraiser with more fun initiatives through CU4Kids.”
