MSUFCU Pays It Forward with Random Acts of Kindness

Last week, Nov. 10-16, 2024, was one filled with random acts of kindness by MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU). Pay It Forward has been an annual tradition focused on the Credit Union’s core value of giving back to the community.

“Over the years, this celebration has evolved to meet the needs of the community,” said Arianna Ridderbusch, MSUFCU Vice President of Community Impact. “For 2024, we were excited to provide unique experiences for employees and community members at local establishments and events in all of our Michigan market areas.”

Examples of the surprise-and-delight opportunities include:

  • MSUFCU staff made and donated blankets for animals at the Capital Area Humane Society in Lansing.

  • Admission and parking validation were provided for those visiting the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

  • Flowers from The Flower Alley in Novi were handed out to passersby.

  • Vouchers were given out to the MOCAD Café in Detroit.

  • Premier Auto Wash vouchers were provided in the Auburn Hills area.

  • Cherry Republic gift cards were given out to community members in Traverse City.

Additionally, all monetary donations made toward MSUFCU’s Giving Tree program during Pay It Forward Week were matched by the Credit Union.

“Pay It Forward is not just about financial contributions; it is about forging connections that will resonate,” Ridderbusch said.

Community members interested in doing a random act of kindness are still able to participate in the Giving Tree through Friday, Nov. 22, by visiting any full-service branch and selecting a gift tag, shopping via Amazon wish lists, or making a monetary donation in a branch.
