Municipal Credit Union Announced Promotion of Toni-Ann Sforza to the Position of Chief Operating Officer

Today, Municipal Credit Union (MCU) announced the recent promotion of Toni-Ann Sforza, sHRBP, SHRM-CP, to the position of Chief Operating Officer. In this newly-created role, Sforza will have responsibility for Payments (Card Services, EFT Operations, Electronic Services), People & Administration (Facilities & Physical Security, Human Resources, Learning & Development), and Delivery Channels (ATM Fleet, Branch Delivery, Contact Center, Digital Delivery, Member Support Operation).

“Since joining MCU, Toni-Ann has risen to every challenge making one positive impact after another along the way,” stated Kyle Markland, MCU’s president & CEO. “Only a few months after joining MCU, she volunteered to temporarily lead the credit union’s lending operations due to a vacancy, and did so again last year due to another vacancy. Time and again, she has stepped up and made a difference. Since becoming Chief People & Experience Officer, she has notably improved operations in both retail delivery and human resources. Expanding her role to include the payments organization means she can bring her discipline and focus to improve the member experience across more of the organization.”

Sforza had served as MCU's Chief People and Experience Officer since May 1, 2023, where she was responsible for Human Resources, Learning & Development, Financial Crimes & Intelligence, Corporate Security and Facilities, along with the Member Experience teams, including Retail Branches, Contact Center, and Member Support Services.

Prior to that, she served as MCU’s Chief Human Resource Officer since arriving at MCU in May of 2021, leading Human Resources and Learning & Development, and was part of the team that moved Municipal Credit Union successfully out of conservatorship.

Toni-Ann Sforza has served in various people leadership roles within New York's financial services sector for nearly two decades. She studied Organizational Management at Mercy University and advanced employee relations/labor relations at the Cornell University ILR School, and holds sHRBP and SHRM-CP certifications. In 2015, the National Association of Professional Women inducted her into their “Woman of the Year Circle” in recognition of her trusted leadership in HR. Sforza accepted an invitation from CHIEF in 2022 to join their private network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders.
