O2 Consulting Group Expands Team as Work Grows

Strategic & Operational Excellence Firm Adds 3 New Staff

O2 Consulting Group, the leading consultancy to coach and empower teams to drive long-term change, has added three new team members as demand for the Credit Union Service Organization’s (CUSO’s) services continues to grow within the credit union community.

“When I started this firm seven years ago, I simply wanted to make a difference for credit unions, optimizing their operational performance for successful and sustainable growth,” Founder/CEO Bonnie Ortiz explained. “It’s rewarding that they also recognize the value of the services our veteran team provides.”

As credit unions’ liquidity has tightened, operational excellence has been a rallying cry for leaders around the credit union community. That’s why O2 is thrilled to announce the expansion of its team by three, a move that will significantly enhance our ability to meet the growing demand and continue moving credit unions forward.

Kathy Sonnenfeld is a highly organized project and operations manager, providing strong cross-functional team leadership, strategic planning, and contractual and fiscal oversight across concurrent multimillion-dollar projects, facilities, meetings and events. She’s worked in financial services and research for more than 20 years, including positions at WesBanco as the AVP of treasury management and operations and at the American Institutes for Research as a principal researcher and project manager.

Lisa Akers is a highly seasoned credit union professional with 30 years of experience in various departments and levels within HAR-CO Credit Union. She has been responsible for all functions and staff within the Loan Servicing department, Member Services branches, and Operations. As such, she is accustomed to managing multiple projects, priorities, and employees. One of her key focuses was business process improvement.

Mary Moore Cavanagh joined O2 from Trellance, a CUSO delivering technology solutions to help credit unions achieve more. There, she served as a senior partner process manager, building an ecosystem of partnerships that supported gaps in the Trellance product portfolio and building out processes to aid in the onboarding of partners, lead entry and partner portal. Prior to joining the credit union space, she worked in sales in the UCaaS, CCaaS and SaaS space and as a project manager in the automotive engineering industry.

“With the addition of our new team members, we’re excited to help credit unions improve their ROI through operational excellence,” Ortiz said. “Credit unions, particularly mid-sized ones, cannot afford their own strategic operations team nor a group of dedicated project managers. With our O2 seasoned professionals at the ready to provide guidance, fill gaps in expertise and offer professional development at all levels, they don’t need these fully dedicated resources in-house.”
