PAHO/WHO FCU, The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation Help Create DC’s Largest Food Forest

PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union and The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation have teamed up to plant fruit trees to help launch the largest food forest in the District of Columbia.

On Saturday, March 9, PAHO/WHO FCU employees and volunteers alongside DC Department of Parks and Recreation, the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation and Forested planted over 60 edible trees, shrubs and vines at Lederer Youth Gardens that will serve the community for generations.

“Our mission has always been to help members of the global health community live better, healthier financial lives,” stated Miguel Boluda, Jr., PAHO/WHO FCU CEO. “This was an incredible opportunity for our employees, family members and members of our Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee to take the mission one step further and help provide community access to sustainable healthy food options.”
