Premier Members Credit Union Receives Landmark “Gold Level” Recognition from Colorado Green Business Network
PMCU first credit union in Colorado to be recognized by the State-Level program
Premier Members Credit Union (PMCU) has become the first Credit Union in the State to be certified by the Colorado Green Business Network (CGBN). CGBN rewarded the Credit Union’s years of sustainability work with the highest level of recognition in the program, the highly coveted Gold Membership.
PMCU achieved this new recognition by showing greenhouse gas emission reductions from their buildings, generous support of environmental sustainability and environmental justice organizations in Colorado, and equitable business practices both internally and externally.
“Since 2019, our sustainability program has overseen a 17% decrease in the greenhouse gas intensity of PMCU buildings and increased renewable energy access across the board to over 20% of total electricity consumption,” said PMCU’s Senior Sustainability Specialist Garrett Chappell. “We have also to re-invested over $70,000 to local grassroots organizations across all our member communities fighting to preserve Colorado’s environment and the well-being of our families and neighbors.”
PMCU will be recognized alongside their fellow sustainable businesses at the Colorado Green Business Network Event on September 29, from 9 am-12 pm. The public is welcome to join the event and learn more about how over 150 local businesses are raising the bar for what it means to make Colorado a healthier and sustainable place to live, work, and play.
