Redwood Credit Union Leaves No Secret Santa Wish Unfulfilled

Redwood Credit Union has stepped up to fulfil the Secret Santa wishes of 2,500 hearts that would otherwise have gone unclaimed.

“None of us at Redwood Credit Union could focus on spending time with our families with those 2,500 hearts being unfulfilled,” said Brett Martinez, President & CEO of Redwood Credit Union. “The need was greater this year than ever before, and we knew we had to lend a helping hand to share the joy of the season—one heart at a time.”

Sonoma County Secret Santa works with over 125 county agencies, schools, and community nonprofit organizations to fill the wishes of people who might otherwise not receive holiday gifts. Each wish is placed on a red heart and these hearts are displayed throughout Sonoma County businesses for the public to adopt.

This year, there were 15,500 hearts in total—up from 14,929 last year. Ten RCU branches were among the many drop-off locations for Secret Santa gifts, and throughout the course of December, RCU Members and employees were generous in helping spread the holiday cheer, fulfilling wishes from more than 1,050 hearts.

With its contributions, RCU joins the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL), KZST Radio Station, Friedman’s Home Improvement, and thousands of local businesses and donors who work together to bring joy and hope to families in Sonoma County.
