Ricky Otey of Partners FCU Appointed To Co-op Solutions Board of Directors

Ricky Otey, President/CEO of Partners FCU of Burbank, California, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Co-op Solutions by a unanimous vote of the directors.

Otey immediately fills the position formerly held by Robert Chavez, who retired from Sandia Laboratory FCU. Otey’s term will expire in May 2023, at which time he may stand for election for a full term.

“I want to congratulate and welcome Ricky on his appointment to the Co-op Board,” said Benson Porter, Chairperson, and President/CEO of BECU. “Ricky has worked for financial institutions for more than 25 years. His solid member-focused leadership experience will be of great value to the Board as we strive to make an impact in the credit union industry through the products and services offered by Co-op. It will also be valuable to have Ricky’s coast-to-coast perspective from Partners, mirroring the national presence of Co-op’s membership, on our Board.”

Otey joined Partners FCU (www.partnersfcu.org) as President/CEO in October 2021, having previously worked as EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Sharonview FCU, starting in 2014. Prior to joining Sharonview, he served at Capital One Bank’s National Association as its Texas State President (2006-2009) and then as Northeast Market Executive (2009-2013). He also spent 16 years with Wachovia and its predecessor First Union in regional and area leadership roles. Otey is a graduate of Longwood University of Farmville, Virginia, and holds an MBA from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

In addition to Porter and Otey, Co-op’s 11-member Board includes Jackie Buchanan, Genisys FCU; Bob Falk, Purdue FCU; Wayne Grosse, Bethpage FCU; Theresa Mann, NASA FCU; Todd Marksberry, Canvas CU; Greg Mitchell, First Tech FCU; Joan Opp, Stanford FCU; Rudy Pereira, Premier America CU; and Harold Roundtree, UNCLE CU.
