SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Receives Three National Awards for Financial Education Initiatives from Credit Union Financial Education Network

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, the state’s largest credit union and the largest credit union serving school employees and their families, received three national awards for its financial education initiatives from the Credit Union Financial Education Network (CUFEN). The awards were presented during the CUFEN annual conference on July 26 held in Burlington, Vt. CUFEN, formerly known as National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB), strives to equip credit union industry professionals with resources, guidance and leadership to provide financial education opportunities for all ages.

SchoolsFirst FCU received a first-place award for Most Student Presentations; another first-place award for Most Adult Presentations; and a second-place award for Most Students Reached. All awards were designated in the $1 billion-plus asset category with a reporting period of July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.

“It’s an honor to receive these recognitions from a leading authority on financial education in the Credit Union movement, just as it’s an honor to annually provide over a thousand financial education presentations and workshops to our Members, school employees and students throughout California,” said Josh Smith, vice president, school and community relations for SchoolsFirst FCU. “Since SchoolsFirst FCU was founded almost 90 years ago, we have been dedicated to providing our Members with World-Class Personal Service and financial security to help better their financial lives. Providing inclusive access to education has and will always be part of what makes that possible.”
