Sikorsky Credit Union Awards $5,000 to Scholarship Winners

Sikorsky Credit Union awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who are headed to college this fall.

Annually Sikorsky Credit Union awards scholarships to high school seniors that plan to continue their education in the fall. Recipients of the scholarships can use the money for tuition, books or other college expenses. The scholarship program was named after Thomas J. Williams, longtime CEO of the Credit Union, who passed away in 2015.

To apply for the scholarship, students were required to write an essay about money management and be a member of Sikorsky Credit Union. All the essays were reviewed by a committee, then the top five essays were selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship award.

The 2023 winners of the Thomas J. Williams Scholarship program are Nicholas Massey of Orange, Mallory Janik of Milford, Sienna Hoefer of Trumbull, Jessica Ziegler of Shelton and Imani Laporte of Bridgeport.

Lucia Panico, Vice President of Retail Banking at Sikorsky Credit Union shared, “Our Scholarship Program is an example of our ongoing commitment to our community. Sikorsky Credit Union was honored to provide scholarship money to five college-bound members to help with college expenses. Congratulations to our scholarship winners!
