Sikorsky Credit Union Donates 400 Backpacks For Children’s Summer Camp Program

Sikorsky Credit Union donated 400 string backpacks to the Sterling House Community Center for kids attending their summer camp program.

For the last decade, Sikorsky Credit Union has donated string backpacks to the summer camp program at Sterling House Community Center in Stratford, CT. The Sterling House has been serving the Stratford community since 1932 and is known for their athletics, food pantry, preschool, summer camp, plus other community programs.

Each camper will receive a string backpack to carry all their belongings to the camp daily. When asked about the donation, Michael Rosati, Director of Youth Development at Sterling House Community Center mentioned, "At Sterling House Summer Camp, our campers are on the go all day! They are moving and grooving from station to station, many of which contain interactive elements where they can get wet or dirty, and the string backpacks that Sikorsky Credit Union generously donates help our campers keep track of their personal belongings as they dance, jump, play and tumble through a busy day of camp."

Sikorsky Credit Union has partnered with the Sterling House for many community initiatives over the years, such as providing toys at holiday time and food donations throughout the year. Ken Ferrari, SVP/Chief Lending Officer explained, “We value our partnership with the Sterling House. They do so much for our community, and we are happy to support their summer camp program for a 10th consecutive year this summer by donating 400 string backpacks for their campers.”
