Suncoast Credit Union Contributes $250,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Florida as Part of Ongoing Hurricane Relief Efforts
Suncoast Credit Union continues its dedication to hurricane recovery efforts with a $250,000 donation to the American Red Cross of Central Florida. This latest contribution, presented on Wednesday, is part of Suncoast’s $850,000 statewide relief commitment to provide critical aid to Floridians facing immediate and long-term challenges following the storms.
The $850,000 commitment from Suncoast Credit Union focuses on key areas essential to re- covery: hunger relief, crisis management, and education. By channeling resources into these priority areas, Suncoast aims to bridge critical needs and create lasting impact for affected fami- lies and individuals. The funds directed to the American Red Cross will support a comprehen- sive range of services, including emergency shelter, food distribution, and crisis response, along with resources for ongoing recovery and rebuilding.
“As Floridians recover from the severe impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Suncoast Credit Union is committed to standing beside our communities in rebuilding lives and restoring hope,” said Kevin Johnson, President and CEO, Suncoast Credit Union. “Through our partner- ship with the American Red Cross of Central Florida, we aim to bridge the resource gap for fam- ilies and reinforce the essential support systems that help our communities recover. Our com- mitment is to ensure that all Floridians have access to the resources they need to thrive well into the future.”
“We are deeply thankful for Suncoast Credit Union’s $250,000 contribution toward our hurricane relief efforts. This vital support allows us to provide immediate assistance to those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, offering food, shelter, relief supplies, and critical services like emotional and spiritual care,” said Michael D. Brown, CEO, American Red Cross of Central Flor- ida. “Suncoast’s generosity will also help sustain the vehicles, warehouses, and dedicated teams that make our work possible. Any funds remaining after emergency needs are met will be directed toward long-term recovery, ensuring that affected communities can rebuild stronger and more resilient.”
In addition to supporting the American Red Cross of Central Florida, Suncoast Credit Union’s $850,000 relief commitment extends to 12 other essential organizations, including the Tri-Coun- ty Community Resource Center, Feeding Tampa Bay, United Way Suncoast, and nine local ed- ucation foundations, to bolster hurricane recovery efforts across Florida.
