Torrance Community Credit Union Welcomes Michael Wilkins as New CEO

The Board of Directors of Torrance Community Credit Union (TCCU) has appointed Michael Wilkins as its new Chief Executive Officer. This strategic leadership transition occurs as the former CEO, Steve Stoppel, retires following a distinguished 21-year tenure with the Credit Union.

"On behalf of the Board, we are excited to bring on Michael as TCCU's new CEO," said TCCU Board Chairman Mike Lewis. "Michael's commitment to service excellence and strategic business insight are invaluable assets that will steer the credit union toward continued growth.”

Michael Wilkins enters his new role with 33 years of experience in the financial industry. His knowledge and expertise in credit union operations and management are demonstrated through his recent position as Senior Vice President/Chief Operations Officer at First City Credit Union.

"It's an honor to be entrusted with the leadership of TCCU," Wilkins said. "I am eager to build upon our strong foundation to deliver exceptional value to our members and ensure a seamless transition."

Previously, Wilkins served in several capacities at California Credit Union, notably as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach.

Chairman Lewis extended gratitude to the credit union's staff for their unwavering commitment throughout the succession process, stating, "We extend our deepest thanks to Steve Stoppel for his remarkable contributions to TCCU. He leaves behind a legacy of growth and member-focused initiatives. As we look to the future, we are confident that under Michael's direction, the credit union will continue to thrive and cater effectively to our membership's evolving needs."
