UMassFive Donates Thousands of Personal Care Items to Local Survival Centers

UMassFive College Federal Credit Union (UMassFive) is thrilled to announce the success of its personal care items drive, which was held during the summer in its Hadley, Northampton, and Springfield branches. The drive collected thousands of personal care items, which were donated to three local organizations: Amherst Survival Center, Northampton Survival Center, and The Gray House in Springfield.

UMassFive is committed to supporting the communities it serves, and the personal care items drive was just one example of its ongoing efforts to give back. Members and staff at all three branches enthusiastically participated in the drive, donating a wide variety of items such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap, menstrual products, diapers, and more. “We know that personal care items in the Survival Center pantries may help people avoid making difficult trade-offs. Nobody should have to choose between food and toilet paper,” said Cait Murray, Community Outreach Manager at UMassFive.
