Westerra Shows Its Pride Once Again Through Sponsorship of Denver’s Largest LGBTQ+ Community Event
This year, Westerra Credit Union is once again sponsoring Denver Pridefest at the “Participating Friend” level and is a Bronze Sponsor for the Denver Pride 5K. Westerra will have a booth at both events, with staff walking in the parade and formed a team to participate in the 5k Walk/Run. This annual sponsorship reflects Westerra’s celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and its ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives and events.
“Last year, Westerra staff really turned up to support Denver Pride,” said Andrea McDermott, Westerra’s Community Engagement Manager, “We saw an 83% increase in staff participation in the parade compared to 2022, which reflects our staff’s enthusiasm and commitment to inclusion. We anticipate another large showing of visibility and support this year!”
This year promises to be especially memorable, as Westerra Credit Union celebrates its 90th anniversary and Denver PRIDE celebrates its 50th anniversary. The longevity of both organizations is impressive, as is their ongoing legacy, impact, and commitment to the Denver Metro community.
In addition to the Westerra’s support of the largest LGBTQ+ event, Westerra has contributed nearly $100,000 and 253 employee VTO hours towards various Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB+) causes over the past two years. These efforts include partnerships with Special Olympics Colorado, The Center on Colfax, Out Boulder County and more.
Join Westerra Credit Union this weekend to celebrate love, diversity and support this vibrant community! More information available at: https://denverpride.org.
