Workers Credit Union Names Bob Leger as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Workers Credit Union has named Bob Leger to the role of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Leger previously served as Senior Vice President of Treasury, Asset and Liability Management and Investments at the credit union and most recently served as the Interim CFO. Leger brings 25 years of financial experience to manage the credit union’s finances, forecasting and reporting. In this role, he will be responsible for accounting, finance and investments.
“Bob has the experience, integrity and vision to lead as the credit union’s new CFO and Treasurer,” said Jay Champion, Interim President and CEO. “He is an excellent financial steward and a proven leader who cares deeply about our members, the credit union and the overall financial health of our communities. We rely on his expertise as we look to serve more individuals and businesses across our region.”
Leger came to Workers Credit Union from Infinity Federal Credit Union. Previously, he held Chief Financial Officer roles at Town & Country Federal Credit Union and York County Federal Credit Union, as well as controller of Aroma Joe’s Franchising in Maine.
“Members are the first priority at Workers Credit Union,” says Leger. “I’m grateful to work on a team that values financial wellness and meeting families and businesses where they are. I look forward to continuing my efforts to help our members in need while ensuring the credit union remains financially sound for the foreseeable future. When we help one person, we help a family, which leads to helping communities at large.”
Leger serves on the board of the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, and he is a board member and treasurer for 1% for the Fishermen, which is a nonprofit that supports local fishing communities, and Scarborough Community Thanksgiving. He also volunteers to help mentor small business owners as a SCORE subject matter expert.
